YEAR OLD WEB DESIGNER FROM LONDON, ONTARIO, CANADA SELECTED AS FINALISTS
AT THE SOUTH BY SOUTHWEST INTERACTIVE FESTIVAL IN AUSTIN, TEXAS
February 4, 2000, London, Ontario, Canada The following 3 Macromedia
Flash websites designed by 11 year old web designer, Keith Peiris, President
& CEO of Cyberteks Design (Grade 6 student of St.Bernadettes
School, London, Canada) has been selected as finalists at the South by
Southwest Interactive Festival (http://www.sxsw.com) scheduled to be held
from March 11-19, 2000 in Austin, Texas.

In total, 4 websites are selected as finalists in the Best Student Website
(Pre-College) category. The other finalist is a 17 year high school student
from Westland. Michigan. The winnerswill be announced at the SXSW Web
Awards on Saturday, March 11, 2000 at the Radisson Hotel in Austin, Texas.
About the South by Southwest Interactuve Festival March
11-14, 2000 at Austin, Texas - The seventh annual South by Southwest Interactive
Festival brings together web developers, multimedia producers, and other
high-tech professionals for four incredible days of education, networking,
deal-making, and fun. More than 200 internet industry experts will share
their expertise during the 50 stimulating panel sessions and roundtables.
These sessions cover everything from the latest programming tips to creating
compelling content to alternative financing options. Given the presence

Keynote Speakers
Denise Caruso - A veteran journalist and analyst with more than 15 years
experience observing the industries of digital technology and interactive
media, Denise Caruso writes the "Digital Commerce" column for
The New York Times. Caruso was founding editor of Digital Media, then
acclaimed as the seminal newsletter in the emerging new media industry,
published by industry pioneer Jonathan Seybold's Seybold Publications.
Stewart Brand is a co-founder and managing director of Global Business
Network and is the President of The Long Now Foundation. Brand is well
known for founding, editing and publishing the Whole Earth Catalog (1968-85),
which received a National Book Award for the 1972 issue. In 1984, he founded
The WELL (Whole Earth 'Lectronic Link).
Rob Burgess, Chairman & CEO of Macromedia Inc. - Since joining Macromedia
in 1996, Rob Burgess has focused the company around the web by using interactivity
and multimedia to enable dynamic and memorable web experiences. Prior
to joining Macromedia, he worked in key executive posts at Silicon Graphics,
Inc. and at Alias Research, Inc. As chief executive at Alias Research,
Burgess oversaw the company's financial turnaround and subsequent ascent
as the world's largest and most profitable high-performance 3D graphics
software company.
Kevin Lynch, Vice President of Macromedia Inc. joined Macromedia in
1996 and has been instrumental in forming the company's web strategy.
Aiming to create practical, powerful, and enjoyable web authoring tools,
he defined and led the development of Dreamweaver, now the most popular
professional HTML editor. He was previously director of General Magic's
operating system and applications teams.
